SAFFORD — Swift Trail above Shannon Campground will re-open to traffic starting Thursday, April 15; however, motorists can still expect some delays.
Arizona Department of Transportation announced that traffic closures of up to 30 minutes should be expected on State Route 366 due to ongoing road repairs. Work may be performed in two locations at the same time, doubling the delay times.
The repair work is a result of the Frye fire in 2017 and includes:
● Removal of burned trees
● Repairs to the road surface in select locations
● Drainage repairs
● Box culvert replacements
● Chip seal on the paved portion of the highway
Drivers should proceed with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
