GRAHAM COUNTY — The holiday weekend saw two business celebrations — the grand opening of the new Strive Fitness Club in Thatcher, and the grand re-opening of Marcia’s Garden Soap Shop in its new location on 7th Street in Safford.
Following the Graham County Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting Saturday, visitors were given guided tours of Strive’s 10,000-square-foot facility, which includes the latest in exercise equipment, free weights, an indoor half-court basketball court, yoga room and 500-square-foot Kids Club care facility.
There’s also the juice bar, which is the brainchild of Heather Goodman, a certified nutritionist who co-owns the facility with her husband, Mitchell.
“I want to make it easier for people to attain their goals,” she said. “What is better than to come in and get a workout, and get a healthy drink after or a healthy snack?”
Strive, on U.S. Highway 70, is open Monday through Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Marcia’s Garden recently moved from its store on Main Street in Safford to the old Sativa Soap Shop building on 7th. The move allows owners Marcia Bothman and her daughter, Sarah Rasmussen, to not only sell, but manufacture their goat-milk soaps and lotions at the facility.
“We have so much work space, and such a large work area, it just makes feel . . . unleashed,” Bothman said.
Marcia’s Garden milks its own goats for the freshest milk to make its products for both men and women of all skin types.
The store is open Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Marcia’s Garden also mails its products anywhere in the U.S. Go to Marcia’s Garden Soap Shop (marciassoaps.com).
