Splash Pad in Thatcher is now open, Safford Pool opens May 20

THATCHER —With temperatures reaching the 90s, the timing of Thatcher’s Parks Department couldn’t be better.

The splash pad was activated effective Monday and will be in operation through the late spring and summer.

There is no cost to use the splash pad or any other amenities in the park.

Meanwhile, the City of Safford announced the opening of the community swimming pool will take place Friday, May 20.

Admission is $2 per person during the day, $1.75 at night, or $7 for a family. Children under 3 accompanied by a paid adult are free.

Season passes are $125 for a family, $75 for adults and $50 for youths.

Registration has started for swim lessons, which is $40 per session. Session 1 will take place June 6 through June 23, while session 2 will take place July 4 through July 21.
