Special plans for Eastern Arizona Museum’s 60th anniversary

PIMA — Pioneer Days later this month will also feature a special anniversary celebration.

“The Eastern Arizona Museum and Historical Society, in conjunction with the Pioneer Days — which are taking place in Pima — they’re going to have guest speakers at the museum multiple days, and a lot of different events,” said Clint Woods with the museum board.

The 60th anniversary of the museum will feature guest speakers:

Friday, July 21

● 10:30 a.m. — Ross Bryce

● 12:30 p.m. — Chuck Maxwell

● 2 p.m. — Venla Kaye Kitcheyan            

Saturday, July 22

● 10:30 a.m. — Keith Crockett

● 12:30 p.m. — Helen Ruth Cole

● 2 p.m. — Ray Luster

There will also be refreshments, door prizes, performances of ragtime piano, Max operating the blacksmith’s forge, and a raffle of a diamond pendant.

Admission to the museum is free; however, donations are welcome. Normal museum hours are Thursday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Volunteer and donation opportunities can be found at the museum.
