The City of Safford will be closing 8th Avenue from 26th Street to Discovery Park Blvd as part of an important step toward beginning construction on Mayor Jason Kouts Park. This closure is essential to ensure the safety of workers and the public while preparing the site for this exciting community project.

- The closure is scheduled to occur from Monday, February 24th through Friday, February 28th, 2025.

In addition, the Streets Department will be working on 8th Street, between 8th and 14th avenues Monday, Feb. 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The roadway will remain open; however, flaggers will be present, so motorists are asked to use caution in the area.
