SAFFORD — This business is all about skin!
Skin Studios is having its grand opening Saturday, from 4:30 p.m. until closing, at 514 S. 1st Avenue in Safford.
The ribbon cutting for this new business will be at 4:30 p.m. This business consists of individual suites specifically reserved for skin care professionals. There will be a waxing suite, a location for skin care professionals to do acne facials, body sculpting treatments, chemical peels, permanent makeup and regular makeup services.
Destini Munoz, owner of Skin Studios, said she wanted to create a space for these specialists to work together with a centralized theme.
“The slogan for the building is ‘All Things Skin,’ ” Munoz said.
Munoz said she came up with the idea after she found her love for skin care and became an esthetician. However, it’s hard to find a location for individual businesses and is not a salon environment, she said. The pros to having suites for individual businesses is that the professionals can advertise their own business and not have to struggle with a shared space.
Her love for skin care was found three years ago, when she was struggling with skin problems herself. After doing her research and attending school, she wants to help a lot of people who also struggle with acne the way she did. It has become her specialty, she said.
Munoz said she understands how acne affects people mentally. It’s stressful and many people feel as though they don’t have control over what their skin is doing. Having a business where people can seek treatment is an option for locals who can’t afford to see a dermatologist or travel.
The grand opening will include raffle tickets, door prizes, and being able to tour the building.
