Sing-along for Alzheimer patients is Tuesday

SAFFORD — A virtual event will take place Tuesday to help those in the early stages of Alzheimer’s.

Guitarist Gene Hays will conduct a music sing-along for those in early stages of dementia or Alzheimer’s Tuesday at 11 a.m.

The Mayo Clinic reports that listening to or singing along to music can offer behavioral benefit to those suffering from Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, because the disease appears to damage not too severely the areas of the brain linked to musical memory.

To RSVP participation in the sing-along, call 520-230-1755 or e-mail nhballesteros@alz.org.
