Graham County Sheriff’s Office Responds to 22 Incidents
The Graham County Sheriff’s Office responded to 22 incidents between Sept. 2 and the morning of Sept. 3, according to the agency’s latest incident report. Calls included domestic disturbances, welfare checks, a missing-person report, trespassing, animal-related calls, traffic incidents and civil matters.
On the morning of September 2, deputies assisted Pinal County authorities with a missing-person report involving two people reportedly traveling in a silver Mazda 3 near the Aravaipa Canyon Trailhead. Deputies were notified that the report was being held while authorities continued efforts to locate them.
At approximately 12:18 p.m., deputies conducted a welfare check on Terry Preas Road after a family member reported receiving a message indicating that a woman had taken a large quantity of pills. The woman was reportedly alone and not making sense when contacted by family. Because of the remote location and the estimated response time for ground medical assistance, an air ambulance was requested. The report later indicates that medical personnel were coordinating a response through the Fort Grant area.
Deputies also responded to a trespassing complaint on Solomon Road in the afternoon. Two juveniles in a blue Chevrolet S-10 were reportedly on private property and allegedly attempting to take bees. The juveniles left the area before deputies arrived.
A welfare check near Solomon Road and First Avenue in Safford was reported at approximately 8:18 p.m. A person was reportedly attempting to enter the roadway. Deputies searched from U.S. 191 toward the cemetery but did not locate the individual.
Later that evening, deputies investigated a vehicle-versus-cow collision on Airport Road. A 2019 Toyota Camry struck a black cow. No injuries were reported, and the vehicle was not blocking the roadway.
At approximately 10:28 p.m., deputies responded to a domestic disturbance near the Graham County Fairgrounds on Armory Road. Two men were reportedly yelling and honking at each other, with one reportedly making threats. The call was initially classified as disorderly conduct and later changed to domestic violence.
Deputies also took a report from a patient at the emergency room who wanted to report an assault that allegedly occurred in June. The woman reported that she had been punched in the face.
Other calls included a cattle complaint near the airport, several civil standbys involving the retrieval of personal belongings, a fire alarm at a Ferguson Lane rental property and a complaint involving a neighbor allegedly withholding someone’s belongings.
The report lists 22 total incidents for the Graham County Sheriff’s Office, with the final entries recorded during the morning of Sept. 3.
