SAFFORD — The City of Safford announced Thursday that 8th Avenue, between 26th Street and Discovery Park Boulevard, will be closed starting Tuesday, Sept. 8.
The closure will last about 60 days.
City officials said the closure is for continued construction of the new Mayor Jason Kouts Park.
The city broke ground on the park this past June and work is expected to be complete by December 2027. Cost is about $9 million.
