DUNCAN — Greenlee County is getting close to having its own shelter for victims of domestic and sexual abuse, but a little help is still needed.
Dorsha Frye with Mt. Graham Safe House said the organization has secured land in Duncan and is making its down payment for a modular home this week, but there are two critical components still to be secured.
“I have someone who is going to donate his time and install the septic tank, I just a septic tank,” Frye said, “and I’m going to need some cement for the pad.”
Frye said that once the cement and septic are in place, the new shelter should be operating within four to five months.
Mt. Graham Safe House operates a shelter in Safford, and provides support and resources to those looking to escape physical and sexual abuse in both Graham and Greenlee counties.
