SAFFORD — The Safford Library is starting a program designed to get everyone outside.
In partnership with the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension, the library’s four-week gardening class begins Tuesday at the Library Annex, at 814 Central Ave.
The class will be conducted over the next four Tuesdays, starting Jan. 13, and take place twice daily, from 10-11:30 a.m. and 5-6:30 p.m.
The “Seed to Supper” course will provide insight on how to grow and manage a home vegetable garden.
“Richard Cluff, who teaches it, has been doing a great job,” said Library Director Victoria Silva. “I know some come back each time because they learn something different at the next one.”
Participants will also have access to garden plots at the Cooperative Extension farm on Montierth Lane, to try out what was taught in class.
There is no cost to participate.
