BYLAS — Gila Valley drivers heading to the Phoenix metro area may encounter travel delays this week.

Arizona Department of Transportation announced U.S. Highway 70 will be reduced to one lane, with alternating east- and westbound travel, between mileposts 288-289, Wednesday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day.

The lane restrictions are in place while crews construct a new westbound passing lane.

Flaggers will assist drivers through the work zone, and the speed limit will be reduced to 25 miles per hour.

Motorists should plan for extra travel time and use caution when traveling through the work zone.
