Security cameras fail to prevent theft of security cameras

GRAHAM COUNTY — A Graham County man reported the security cameras for his house were stolen while he was home.

The victim told Graham County Sheriff’s deputies he heard banging on the window and front door of his home on South U.S. Highway 191, and when he got to the door the suspect had run up a hill to the northwest of the home.

That’s when he noticed the security camera next to the front door was gone. Once deputies arrived, the victim saw his vehicle’s door was open and confirmed a backpack with more cameras and a monitor was also taken.

The victim told deputies there was no recording, only a live feed from the front door camera.

He also said his ATV was taken from his girlfriend’s home on Cheyenne about four days prior. He said he didn’t report the alleged theft previously because he didn’t have the title to the vehicle.

The victim told deputies he’d recently had an altercation with another man, but declined to name the man to authorities.
