Search on for missing child after swift-water rescue

PIMA — A swift-water rescue during Thursday night’s storm has turned into a search.

Just before 11 p.m. Thursday, Graham County Search and Rescue was called out for a Blue Suburban vehicle stuck in a wash. Five of the six occupants of the vehicle were located and rescued.

However, a 4-year-old girl was missing and a search was initiated.

As of 8 a.m. Friday, the search was continuing, concentrating on Cottonwood Wash, north of the Pima Bridge. A search and rescue helicopter has been dispatched to the area to assist.

Identity of the missing girl has not yet been released.
