THATCHER — The Small Business Development Center at Eastern Arizona College is offering high school students a chance to make the dream of business ownership come true.
The SBDC will conduct two Young Entrepreneur Excellence Training events — one at EAC’s Thatcher campus and the other at the Gila Pueblo campus in Globe.
In the program, students will learn about how to build a business, as well as talk with small business owners to get insights on how to achieve success. At the end, the students will then take part in a “Shark Tank” style pitch competition for money to help start their business.
There is no cost to participate and the event is co-sponsored by the Arizona Commerce Authority and the United Way of Graham and Greenlee Counties.
On the Globe campus, the event will take place June 3-7, from 9 a.m. to noon, in room 522. To register go to Young Entrepreneur Excellence Training: Globe-Miami (azsbdc.net).
On the Thatcher campus, the event will take place July 8-12, from 9 a.m. to noon, in room AP-111. To register go to Young Entrepreneur Excellence Training: Gila Valley (azsbdc.net).
