SAFFORD — There’s a new place to get information about helping children in need this holiday season.

The City of Safford has moved its annual Angel Tree from the City Annex to the Safford Police Station this year.

“We’re currently accepting angel nominations at the Police Department from now through Dec. 1, and as nominations are coming in, they will be placed on our Angel Tree for selection,” Police Administrative Assistant Mariah Selby said on the Safford Insider Podcast.

Forms to nominate children to be angels can be obtained at the Police Station, by emailing clazarus@saffordaz.gov or calling 928-432-4105. Nominations must be submitted to Safford Police no later than Dec. 1.

Each angel will have the child’s age, clothing sizes and wish list. After selecting angels, donors are asked to return the angel with new, unopened gifts unwrapped no later than Dec. 17. Donations of gift wrap, tape, boxes and other holiday necessities will also be accepted.

Police staff will wrap the gifts and deliver to the children on Dec. 23.
