Safford volleyball quarantined for 10 days

SAFFORD — In a letter to parents dated October 10th, Safford High School in conjunction with Graham County Health Department officials have announced the volleyball program will be quarantined from October 12th through October 22nd.

The letter states that there are 3 positive COVID-19 cases within the volleyball team but don’t think the three cases are connected.

“This has not been a decision the Health Department and SUSD administration has taken lightly,” said Safford Athletic Director Toni Corona. “But to follow state, local and AIA guidelines, this is what we must do to protect students, staff and the community,” she added.

Safford volleyball can return to practice October 23rd. They will miss 4 scheduled games in that span but the school plans on trying to reschedule those games.
