SAFFORD — The next phase of improving 14th Avenue in Safford is getting ready to move forward.
The city is accepting bids to improve 14th Avenue from U.S. Highway 70 to just south of 8th Street.
The project requires milling the top 2 inches of the existing roadway, laying down new asphalt, adjusting valves and manholes to the new grade and striping the roadway.
Bids must be submitted by April 30.
The city performed pavement rehabilitation of 14th Avenue from El Paso Boulevard to Relation Street in 2025, and from Relation Street to just south of 8th Street in 2021.
