SAFFORD — The Safford Lions Club, Gila Valley Rotary and Foreign Angels Charities recently went international in its mission help people . . . and they’re going to do it again.

In late March, members of the three organizations traveled to Mexico. In Cananea, the Lions Club took part in a health fair. The club brought two vision screening machines and served more than 600 people. In addition, the club brought 1,600 pairs of donated eyeglasses to give to any person in need.

In Rocky Point, Gila Valley Rotary delivered materials and helped build three houses.

Meanwhile Foreign Angels Charities partnered with a Christian ministry in Rocky Point for a feeding program and prayer on Saturday; and visited an orphanage in Cananea, delivering food, on Sunday. Foreign Angels Charities also provided a cotton candy machine and Van De Graaff generator for the health fair.

On April 23, the Safford Lions Club will travel to Agua Prieta to team with the Bachacuy Lions Club to conduct free eye screenings and donate eyeglasses.
