Safford hot dog sale to help with utility bills returns Thursday

SAFFORD — The City of Safford announced the 7th annual Give From the Heart Hot Dog Sale will take place Thursday. Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in parking area in front of City Hall.

Utilities employees will be selling hot dogs, nachos and sodas to raise money for the Give From the Heart Program, which helps pay utility bills for residents 62 and older, who meet specific income guidelines.

Hot dogs will be $2, nachos $3 (50 cents extra for jalapenos) and $1 for sodas.

Safford utilities customers can also help their elderly neighbors when paying the monthly utility bill.

On their billing stub returned with payment, residents can choose to round up to the nearest whole dollar, add $1 to the payment or make a one-time contribution of any amount.
