Safford distributes 12K gift certificates

SAFFORD – The City of Safford announced Wednesday that all 12,000 of the gift certificates printed in the Invest in Safford Gift Certificate program have been claimed by participating businesses.

The businesses may still have certificates for sale. For a list of participating businesses, go to the Graham County Chamber of Commerce web page.

The program is the brainchild of the Safford Downtown Association and in collaboration with the city and the United Way of Graham and Greenlee Counties. Shoppers can purchase $10 certificates for just $6. The businesses will be reimbursed $3. The certificates can be used any time.

Residents can also win gift certificates for businesses throughout the Gila Valley at the Kat Kountry 94.5 Facebook page. Kat Kountry owner Reed Richins purchased nearly $1,000 of the Safford gift certificates, and was able to secure $200 in $20 vouchers from the Town of Thatcher and $250 worth of gift certificates for businesses in Pima.

The winner will be drawn Friday, April 24.
