Roll-over send teen driver to the hospital

GRAHAM COUNTY — A teenage driver was transported to Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center for a back injury and several scratches to the arms and face following a single-vehicle roll-over on Central Road, near Ashley Drive.

The roadway was in the process of being chip sealed, and was covered in loose gravel. Signs were posted warning driving of the roadway’s condition.

Graham County Sheriff’s deputies reviewing the scene saw multiple skid marks before the vehicle went off the roadway for another 88 feet before rolling over.

Deputies concluded the driver was traveling too fast for conditions and attempted to overcorrect when the vehicle began to skid.

Due to medications used during treatment for the injuries, deputies said the driver was not coherent enough to provide an immediate statement. The driver’s father was contacted with instructions to make the driver and his information available to law enforcement when the driver was in full control of his faculties.
