SAFFORD — Those who love the sport of hunting have another event to share harvesting stories.

Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation will host the Southeastern Arizona Banquet at the Ag Building at Graham County Fairgrounds this Saturday, starting at 6 p.m.

“The money is going to habitat conservation, scholarships, different projects, watershed projects and partnership projects throughout Arizona,” said Dan Turley with the foundation.

Cost is $75 for a single ticket, which includes a meal and membership in the organization, or $115 for two meals and one membership.

There will be more than 170 items given away through raffles, and the live and silent auctions.

Since 1984 Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation has worked to help restore and conserve 8.9 million acres of wildlife habitat across 23 states. The organization has facilitated land exchanges and purchases to ensure public access, and assisted with forest thinning and planned burns of invasive species to protect the land and wildlife.

Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation has invested $39 million in conservation efforts in Arizona over the past 40 years.
