SAFFORD — Parents have one more chance to register their toddlers for one of the Gila Valley’s most popular activities.
Registration for the Winter/Spring session of Fun with Math and Science at the Safford City-Graham County Library re-opens Monday, Jan. 3.
Fun with Math and Science gives toddlers ages 3-5 an introduction to scientific concepts.
“We read a story that is a narrative that includes those kinds of concepts, two stories or so and we do activities. And then there’s also time where the caregiver and the child can move around to different centers, where they can practice fine motor skills, gross motor skills, reading and other manipulatives,” said Elizabeth Henley, Early Literacy coordinator for the library.
Caregivers are also engaged via a tip sheet — activities to be conducted at home based on the concepts learned that week.
Fun with Math and Science starts Wednesday, Feb. 2, at 1 p.m. and will take place six consecutive Wednesdays. The program is free to all participants.
