SAFFORD — The Gila Valley loves to celebrate new and successful businesses.

“If you want to see a ribbon get cut, which I would say is a rare thing, but not in the Gila Valley. We cut ribbons all the time (and) they’re always fun,” said Vance Bryce, executive director for the Graham County Chamber of Commerce.

Two of those ribbon-cuttings are coming up this month, with the first at Red Oven Pizzeria on Thursday, April 21, with the ribbon-cutting at noon.

“It’s delicious pizza, it’s homemade, they use fresh ingredients and you can smell it all up and down Main Street,” Bryce said.

Red Oven Pizzeria is also nominated for best dining experience in the Best of Safford Awards. Voting is going on now at Best of Safford.

The other ribbon-cutting is at Copper Mountain Clinic on the campus of Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center.

An open house will take place Friday, April 29, from 9-10 a.m., with the ribbon-cutting at 9:30 a.m. With support from United Way of Graham and Greenlee Counties, the hospital’s Copper Mountain Clinic has been offering free COVID-19 testing throughout the pandemic.
