SAFFORD — The National Weather Service out of Tucson has issued a Red Flag Warning for the Gila Valley.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or are expected to develop. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and dry vegetation will create the potential for rapid and erratic fire growth.

The warning is in effect until 7 p.m. Tuesday and includes southwestern Graham County, southern Greenlee County, the eastern two-thirds of Cochise County and the San Carlos Apache Reservation.
