CLIFTON — Greenlee County got hit with heavy rain over the weekend, with Clifton taking the brunt of the damage.

Weather Underground reports the Clifton area saw a half-inch of rain Saturday and Sunday and storms washed mud and large rocks downhill and into roadways, making the roads impassable for much of Sunday, including Ward Canyon and portions of U.S. Highway 191.

In addition to rain, the Morenci area saw hail Sunday.
