SAFFORD – It’s that time of year; children are getting ready to return to school, the temperatures are dropping and the public pools are closing down for the season.
The Pima Pool closed its doors July 30. Eastern Arizona College’s pool will close to the public Aug. 5, and the Safford Pool will close Aug. 9.
It was the 1960s duo Chad & Jeremy who summed up the sweet sadness with their lyrics to Summer Song. “Sweet sleepy warmth of summer nights, gazing at the distant lights, in the starry sky. They say that all good things must end some day, autumn leaves must fall.”
