Prescribed burns taking place near Baldy Bill Point

CLIFTON — The Clifton Ranger District of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests announced it is conducted controlled burn operations in the district.

The East Eagle Rx Project consists of 200 acres near Baldy Bill Point, about 10 miles south of Hannagan Meadow and 2 miles west of U.S. Highway 191.

The burns are to reduce fuel for the upcoming fire season.

Some areas may be closed to the public during burning operation, and smoke may be visible from the highway.
