SAFFORD — On Thursday, March 17, the Safford Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management will conduct a one-day prescribed burn near Nine Mile Ranch, seven miles south of Bowie.
The fire will cover about 10 acres and will attack piled slash and debris that was cut of fuel-break maintenance to reduce wildfire risk.
Fire personnel will monitor the area during and after the prescribed burn.
