THATCHER — Pow Wow — Produce on Wheels Without Waste — returns to the Gila Valley Saturday, courtesy of Borderlands Produce Rescue and the Safford Lions Club.
Borderlands delivers thousands of pounds of rescued produce and the Lions Club makes available up to 70 pounds for a $12 donation.
“We always have . . . a variety, and I’m sure, in that variety, you will be able to find something that you enjoy,” said Gerri Gibbs, who coordinates Pow Wow for the Lions Club.
Pow Wow runs 8-11 a.m. in the parking lot of Home Depot and the Lions Club offers drive-through service.
Just as Pow Wow comes to an end, Home Depot will start a Vendor Block Party, with vendors, food trucks and a storewide clearance sale. There will also be a show-and-shine car show.
The Vendor Block Party starts at 11 a.m. and run throughout the day.
