SAFFORD — There are just a few days left to brighten Christmas for a child in need.

The Safford Police Angel Tree is located in the police station lobby.

“They have only 10 day left, and there’s still so many tickets left on the tree,” said Safford City Clerk Bea Hernandez.

The children’s names are not disclosed, only their gender, age and what they would like for gifts. Volunteers purchase gifts for the children and return the items to the Safford Police Department. Police officers and support staff will then wrap and distribute the gifts to the children for holiday.

The deadline to return new, unwrapped gifts is Thursday, Dec. 18.
