Plan for daytime lane restrictions on US 60 west of Miami beginning Feb. 4

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for daytime lane restrictions on US 60, approximately three miles west of Miami, between mileposts 241-242, for roadway improvements.

Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 4, the following restrictions will be in place daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from 7 a.m. to noon on Fridays:

  • US 60 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction with alternating east- and westbound travel between mileposts 241 and 242.
  • Onsite flaggers and a pilot car will direct drivers through the work zone.
  • Drivers should expect delays of up to 15 minutes.
  • An 11-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
  • Speed will be reduced in the work zone.

The work consists of replacing existing culverts and slope protection measures with shoulder rehabilitation. Guardrail and other related work also will be completed. Construction is anticipated to take approximately six months to complete.

Allow extra travel time, use caution, be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching and traveling through all work zones.

This work is separate from the US 60, Queen Creek and Waterfall Canyon Bridges Replacement Project east of Superior.
