THATCHER — Pet owners will have three chances this weekend to help keep their animals safe.

Desert Cat Rescue & Sanctuary of Arizona will conduct three vaccine and microchip drive-through clinics starting Friday.

Vaccines available will be distemper/parvo, kennel cough and feline AIDS plus there will be $15 microchipping available.

“Our Animal Control here in Graham County does have a scanner, and, of course, the veterinarians have scanners, so that if a cat or dog has been found that has been chipped, you scan it and find out who the owner is. That helps with lost pets,” said Paul David, board member of Desert Cat Rescue.

The first clinic is Friday, June 25, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the American Legion in Clifton. On Saturday, June 26, the second clinic will be in the Ashley Furniture parking lot in Thatcher, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and the third clinic will take place from 8 a.m. to noon at the Willcox Fire Department station No. 2.

Microchipping is $15 per pet and vaccines are at veterinarian cost.
