SAFFORD —The Board of Directors of United Way of Graham and Greenlee Counties announced Friday the appointment of Amanda Patterson as executive director, effective immediately.
Patterson succeeds Denise Benton and assumes the position after serving as interim executive director for the past four months. Since August 2022, Patterson also served as the organization’s grant manager, helping oversee funding opportunities and community investments that support nonprofit organizations, schools, municipalities, and programs throughout Graham and Greenlee counties.
A longtime resident of the Gila Valley, Patterson brings both professional experience and a deep understanding of the communities United Way serves. During her time with the organization, she has worked closely with local partners, agencies, donors, volunteers, and community leaders to help address local needs and strengthen the impact of United Way’s programs and initiatives.
“I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as executive director of United Way of Graham and Greenlee Counties,” Patterson said. “Over the past four years, I have witnessed firsthand the generosity and dedication that make our communities so special. I look forward to continuing our work alongside community partners, donors, volunteers, and the Board of Directors to create opportunities, strengthen lives, and build an even brighter future for Graham and Greenlee counties.”
As executive director, Patterson will oversee the organization’s operations, fund-raising efforts, grant programs, community partnerships, and strategic initiatives while continuing to advance United Way’s mission of mobilizing the caring power of the community to improve lives.
United Way of Graham and Greenlee Counties works to improve lives by focusing on education, health, and financial stability throughout the region. Through grant funding, community partnerships, volunteer engagement, and local initiatives, the organization helps strengthen communities and create opportunities for individuals and families across Graham and Greenlee counties.
