SAFFORD — Our Neighbors Farm & Pantry will host a grand‐opening ceremony for its new Little Free Library, named “Our Neighbors Little Library,” Wednesday, June 28, at 11 a.m.

The Safford City-Graham County Library began installing Little Free Libraries around Graham and Greenlee counties in 2019 as part of the library’s mission to foster lifelong learning for members of the community. The donation of a Little Library to Our Neighbors Farm & Pantry is the eighth installed as part of this initiative.

The Little Free Library at Our Neighbor’s Farm & Pantry was constructed by Calvin Beavers, of Globe, for his daughter, Lesley Talley, who is the supervisor at Safford Library. The painting was completed by Lesley’s daughter, Lilly Talley.

Southwest Gas helped by pouring a cement pad, and staff of Our Neighbors Farm & Pantry installed box.

Little Free Libraries serve those seeking free reading material who may not have convenient access to a public library, or at times when the public library is closed. Donations of books are always accepted to keep the Little Free Library stocked.

There are more than 160,000 Little Free Libraries around the world, in more than 100 countries. The Little Free Library nonprofit organization has been honored by the Library of Congress, the National Book Foundation, and the American Library Association. To learn more visit littlefreelibrary.org.
