Open house tonight at EAC to gather public input on recreation complex

THATCHER — The Town of Thatcher is seeking input on a proposed recreation center, and officials are asking residents throughout the Gila Valley to help.

An open house to gather ideas will take place Monday, Sept. 27, from 4-7 p.m., at Eastern Arizona College’s Activity Center.

Thatcher, Pima, Graham County and Eastern Arizona College officials have agreed to investigate the possibility of development of a regional multi-use recreational complex. Thatcher has retained the services of the Architechton architectural firm to conduct a market analysis as well as a feasibility study.

The open house will be the public’s first chance to view conceptual drawings as well as offer ideas on what they would like to see included in a complex.

Town officials are asking for input from residents of all communities, including areas not currently part of the planning process, including Safford, Fort Thomas, Solomon and more.
