One case of flu in Graham County

SAFFORD — While the pandemic continues to set new highs in the number of cases, another health concern is starting to hit the state — the flu.

Arizona Department of Health Services reports there has been one case of influenza involving a person age 19-49 in Graham County since the start of the flu season Oct. 14. The strain is Influenza B.

Based on the five-year average, Graham County sees most of its flu cases between Dec. 15 and Feb. 15, with the peak number of cases typically occurring around the first of January.

Greenlee County has yet to experience a flu case this season.

Statewide, there have been 31 cases thus far, with 22 of those cases being Influenza B.
