SAFFORD — A traffic stop turned into a manhunt Thursday.
Safford Police attempted the traffic stop in the 2900 block of U.S. Highway 70, but the driver fled, leading police on a chase into Thatcher, where officers disengaged for safety reasons.
Joined by Thatcher and Pima Police departments, Graham County Sheriff’s Office and Arizona Department of Public Safety, officers began the search for the suspects.
A tip came in about a residence in Daley Estates, where officers were able to take one suspect into custody.
Two other suspects remain at large, and officers continue to search the area. It is believed the suspects may have been involved in drug-related activity.
Identities of the suspects have not yet been released and investigation is ongoing.
