New COVID-19 cases in Graham County in November tops 500

SAFFORD — The Gila Valley saw another 22 new cases of coronavirus Thursday.

Graham County Health Department reported 10 of the new cases are in the Safford area, seven in Thatcher, four on the San Carlos Apache Reservation and one in Pima.

Ten of the new cases involved people between the ages of 20 and 44, four are in those younger than 20, three cases each involving people 45 to 54 and people over the age of 65, and two cases in those 55 to 64.

There have been 521 new cases of COVID-19 in the Gila Valley since Nov. 1, as well as four deaths. There are 722 cases considered active.

Since the start of the pandemic, Graham County has experienced 1,767 cases and 33 deaths.

Greenlee County Health Department reported seven new cases Wednesday evening.

That brings the county’s total of new cases in November to 52, one-third of all cases the county has experienced since the start of the pandemic.

Greenlee County’s total is at 155, with 62 cases considered active and two deaths.
