TUCSON — NavigatEd AZ, an organization that empowers families with the information to confidently navigate all the education pathways available to them in Arizona, welcomes Laura Ciscomani as their new executive director. Mrs. Ciscomani adds a new level of experience and expertise in both the education and nonprofit fields. She brings an exciting focus on serving families in Southern Arizona to ensure they have access to the learning environment that best serves their child.

Laura has over nearly two decades of experience in the non-profit field, some of which was dedicated to serving students from several public-school districts and charter schools during her career. What is more, Laura has six school age children and understands the challenge of finding the best educational option or combination of options for each family.

NavigatEd AZ was born out of a partnership with Families Empowered, a longstanding Houston-based non-profit helping resource-restricted families customize their child’s education to ensure the best fit.

Understanding that Arizona offers many kinds of learning options, spanning public, private, in-person, online, and hybrid settings, NavigatEd AZ shows parents all their options, so that they can make an educated decision about their child’s schooling. These services are provided free of cost, in English and Spanish.

Lisa Keegan, NavigatEd AZ board chair, said, “I am delighted that Laura Ciscomani will bring her incredible expertise and enthusiasm to the leadership of NavigatEd AZ. She has been a tireless and effective advocate for Arizona families, who will greatly benefit from her vision.”

With the addition of Mrs. Ciscomani and in concert with Families Empowered, NavigatEd AZ is strategically positioned to expand its services, especially to Arizona’s fast-growing Hispanic population.

“Arizona is at the forefront of educational freedom. But even with so many options, access is still limited to families with limited knowledge of the educational landscape in our state,” said Mrs. Ciscomani.  “Many families still lack support to navigate the school options available to them.My vision for NavigatED AZ is to reach families who need this support, so that they can have all the tools to determine what is the best fit for their family.”
