SAFFORD —The Gila Watershed Partnership is conducting its Fall Native Plant Sale, with a special in-person event Saturday, Oct. 1.

The in-person event takes place from 8 a.m. to noon, and is in celebration of GWP’s 30th anniversary.

“On that Saturday, my wife Julie, who is a horticulturist as well, we’ll both be there so we can answer all kinds of people’s questions for planting, and about the plants and what is best for them,” said Steve Plath, Native Plant Nursery manager.

Starting Oct. 2, and running through Oct. 14, the plant sale moves to online. Buyers can select their favorite plants on the website, www.gwpaz.org/fall-plant-sale, and every Friday, GWP schedules times for plant pick-up at its greenhouse on Eastern Arizona College’s Discovery Park Campus.

Autumn is the best time plant in Arizona and there are hundreds of plants are for sale, including native desert trees, cacti, succulents, native grasses, pollinator plants and more.

All funds raised from the sale supports Gila Watershed Partnership’s effort to improve the water quality and ecosystem condition of the Upper Gila Watershed.
