Nancy Anne Cowan, 78, passed away on April 22, 2018. She was born in Somerville, MA to Herbert and Theresa Erickson on March 29, 1940.
She married William “Bill” Cowan in 1960. Bill worked for the Federal Bureau of Prisons for 25 years which had them moving all over the country. Everywhere they moved Nancy did three things: she unpacked the house, planted a garden and got a library card.
She enjoyed traveling across the country to visit friends and family, camping, investigating old junk piles in the desert, Sunday crossword puzzles and collecting blue and white dishes. Nancy was a member of the Mt. Graham Hospital Auxiliary for many years.
Nancy is survived by her sons; Bill and Andrew and her daughter Anne (Max) Hinton, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and her beloved dog Jolene.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bill and her sister Helen White.
There will be a memorial service on June 23, 2018 at All Saints Episcopal Church in Safford.
