Mount Graham Winter Closure begins Wednesday, Nov. 15

SAFFORD — The U.S. Forest Service announced Wednesday that the seasonal closure of the upper portion of State Highway 366 — known as Swift Trail — due to seasonal snowfall on Mount Graham, will begin Nov. 15.

“The area is only closed to motorized vehicles,” said Starr Farrell with the Forest Service. “Hikers, mountain bikers, cross-country skiers and other non-motorized recreational users may continue beyond the locked gate to engage in recreational activity.”

The temporary closure to motorized vehicles will remain in effect until April 15, 2024, but it could be extended depending on weather.
