THATCHER — Two area teens are finalists for one of the most comprehensive scholarships in the state.

Hannah Gibson, of Thatcher High School, and Roselyn Dorrell, of Morenci High School, are among 78 Arizona high school seniors vying for a Flinn Scholarship.

On its website, the Flinn Scholarship is described as “valued at more than $135,000 and provides a full ride covering tuition, housing, meals, and at least two study abroad experiences in partnership with Arizona’s public universities.”

Twenty seniors will be selected and will attend University of Arizona, Arizona State University or Northern Arizona University this fall.

Those not selected will receive scholarships of $15,000 per year if they choose to attend one of Arizona’s three universities.

Interviews via Zoom are later this month and scholarship recipients will be announced in April.
