Gap, Grazed and Ravine fires all at 100 percent containment

SAN CARLOS — San Carlos Apache Forestry Resources is reporting that all three wildfires that started on the reservation are at 100 percent containment.

The Gap fire, in the Ash Flat area, started Jan. 7 and grew to 1,600 acres. Cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Grazed fire, in Peridot, also started Jan. 7. It reached a peak of 55 acres, and is believed to be human caused.

The Ravine fire, also in Peridot, is believed to be human caused as well. It started Jan. 5 and burned 36 acres.

Wildland fire crews have now been assigned to monitoring status.
