MORENCI — Roselyn Dorrell has proven herself to be extra special, even among the most special students in all of Arizona.
On Thursday, it was announced that Dorrell was named a 2025 Flinn Scholar, which provides for all costs associated with attending one of Arizona’s three public universities — including tuition, housing and meals — as well as two opportunities to study abroad.
Dorrell, a high school senior, who graduated with her associate’s degree from Eastern Arizona College as a junior, is the first Morenci High School student to win a Flinn Scholarship, is the first Clifton resident to win, and the first resident of Greenlee County to receive the honor.
She’s also one of only three students to receive the scholarship from Southern Arizona, with the other two from Tucson.
Dorrell plans to attend the University of Arizona in the fall.
