THATCHER — Small business owners in Graham and Greenlee counties can get some expert advice and even some extra cash with the return of Moonshot.

Moonshot provides training and mentorship for entrepreneurs, and gives those business owners a chance to pitch their ideas to business experts for a chance to infuse $10,000 into their business for winning the finals. Plus there’s a $5,000 prize for the fan’s favorite.

There are 15 qualifying pitch competitions held in rural communities throughout the state, with the first in Seligman on March 27. The winners of each of the qualifiers advance to the finals in Cottonwood on Aug. 2.

The local Moonshot qualifiers are sponsored by the Small Business Development Center at Eastern Arizona College, which sent Graham/Greenlee winner Roycycled Treasures to the finals in Flagstaff in 2023, as well as last-year’s $10,000 first-place winner, Pin Drop Travel Trailers from Globe/Miami.

The Globe/Miami pitch competition is June 13-14, while the Graham/Greenlee pitch competition is July 11-12.

Go to the Moonshot website to take part in the event. There is no charge to participate.
