SAFFORD — An argument between mother and daughter reportedly turned violent.
Graham County Sheriff’s deputies and Safford Police officers were dispatched to a home on Spradlin Lane following reports of a fight.
The mother said she and her adult daughter — who the mother said had been drinking — had been arguing before the mother went to bed. A short time later, the mother said she was awaked by the daughter, who was holding a butcher knife to the mother’s forearm, allegedly threatening to stab the mother.
The mother said the daughter then began physically attacking her, biting the mother’s hand and slamming the mother’s head into the floor.
The daughter denied she had a knife and claimed it was the mother who initially attacked. She also denied drinking but officers reported her behavior as “erratic.”
The mother was transported to Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center for treatment of her injuries, while the daughter was booked into Graham County Jail on charges of aggravated assault, serious physical injury; disorderly conduct, recklessly handling a dangerous instrument; disorderly conduct, seriously disruptive behavior; and threatening or intimidating, to cause physical injury.
At the jail, the daughter’s blood-alcohol content was found to be 0.151.
