MGRMC Announces Visitation Restrictions for Children

Due to an increase in Influenza, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), and other respiratory illnesses, Mount Graham Regional Medical Center has implemented visitation restrictions for children who are 12 years old or younger, except in special exempted circumstances. Children 12 years old and younger should not visit the hospital except for medical care or exempted circumstances until these restrictions are lifted. Visitors to the hospital should be well and free of illness symptoms.

Arizona has a higher-than-expected RSV rate, currently twenty times higher than the average rate over the last 5 years, and Influenza is ten time higher than the average rate over the last 5 years. MGRMC has also seen an increase locally in the number of positive respiratory illnesses. As a reminder, the best prevention for seasonal illnesses is to wash your hands or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, and to limit exposure to others if you are sick. Doing so can help protect you and your loved ones during the upcoming holiday season.
